Stanfields House in Kingscourt Lane was built in 1649 by James Stanfield, who held an endowed 'lectureship' associated with Rodborough church. The symmetrically planned, gabled house was at one time divided into cottages, but it was restored to a single dwelling in 1973 and retains many original features.

Once the home of Ian Rank-Broadley, the sculptor who designed the portrait of the Queen used on the current coinage.
