This clothing factory at Cheapside, Stroud was converted into residential flats in 2003-4. The building was built by clothing company Williamson & Tratt & Co. who went into liquidation in 1902. Hill Paul & Co. Ltd was established in 1902. Hill Paul specialised in manufacturing clothes made from West of England woollen cloths. Men's suits, jackets and trousers for business and leisure wear, and riding kits for both sexes, were produced. In 1971, the company employed over 100 people. The factory closed in 1989.
