Established in 1999, this not for profit limited company was set up to provide support and opportunity to local makers and producers in and around Stroud.

Today, Made in Stroud:
* organises the Farmers Markets in Stroud, Gloucester and Stow-on-the- Wold
* provides a Farmers Market information point
* manages the Made in Stroud shop
* project manages Gloucestershire Food Links and
  offers a consultancy service

From bags to baskets, pottery to photography, the Made in Stroud shop sells products made locally by more than 120 of its co-operative members.

Set up in December 2000, it encourages innovation, creativity and the concept of buying locally made goods.

Since 1992, the company has been designing, manufacturing and installing wind monitoring solutions to the wind energy industry.  The company's founder was a Stroud resident.

The business has grown from mainly servicing a UK market and exporting to Europe, to sending equipment all around the world, including Thailand, Australia, Africa and partner organisations in the USA.
 

Sutton Publishing Ltd

Publishing books on general, local and military history, Sutton Publishing sells to retail and wholesale booksellers, from national stores to independent bookshops.

In 25 years, the company has built distribution agreements with companies in Canada, Australia and South Africa.  They also export books to English speaking customers all over the world as well as selling rights in foreign languages for the books that they publish.

Established in 1989 by a local engineer and his partner, the business manufactured and sold 'screw conveyors' - machinery for large industrial plants.

Joining his father's business Tim Hemming (current Managing Director) and brother, Steve (Head Draughtsman), moved the business from Cheltenham to Oakridge.  Needing a separate sales site, their offices moved to the Bath Road trading estate in 1998.

The company exports worldwide, including to Egypt, Indonesia and Russia and specialises in the transportation of powders.

This entertainment service started as a one-man band business 30 years ago.  The business now offers a diverse service including the provision and setting up of equipment, safety checks and repairs, stage effects and grease paint!

The company's staff and freelance specialists have worked on a variety of venues and functions including theatre productions, trade shows, galas and weddings.
